I was not sure which to choose until I spoke with BJ Dutson at Peoples Mortgage Company. My FICO credit score wasn't high enough to get the best interest rate. BJ helped me to raise my credit score without any cost to me. GabbyOne Los Angeles, CA We are an extremely conservative family (2 engineers and ex-military police) and highly wary of anyone selling anything online but BJ Dutson at People's Mortgage proved us wrong. The first time we investigated using our VA benefits, People's Mortgage was one of the respondents... and BJ was the only one to stick with us through 16 months of searching for the right house, helping us wade through issues with sellers who didn't understand VA loans, banks that didn't want to sell to us because we were using a VA loan, and the VA itself. BJ was the only broker we talked with that could explain that it was possible to buy a house ""over the county limits"" with a VA loan! Thanks to him, we saved thousands in closing costs and PMI that we would have ended up paying if we'd listened to the people who weren't so experienced with VA loans. So, we closed our dream house September of last year.... Then, rates dropped and BJ helped us refinance for 1/2% lower rate AND found a program where our bank paid our closing costs and escrow funding fees to keep us! Between the 2 payments we didn't have to make and the refund of the escrow from our first mortgage, we were able to retain over $15K in cash!!! We brought nothing but ourselves to closing. Our new house note is $950 less than the old one! BJ and his team did a great job... even when weird stuff happened with the credit report, BJ was able to work with the credit agencies to get it cleared up quickly. (Credit report was required for the ""rebate"" on the refinance) We would whole-heartedly recommend BJ and People's Mortgage to even the most conservative buyer. (P.S. We did all the BBB and other background checks and these guys were rated at highest levels across the board... there were others we found who weren't.)
